Veronese

Ettore Veronese. Biella-born fashion designer who has worked with many prestigious sportswear manufacturers and couture houses for collections of menswear and womenswear. Currently he is working on his “reworking” project, which will entail stitching antique elements of all sorts into outfits in order to make original creations. Papier de chine is the name of the line of prêt-à-couture devised by Veronese. Pure linens obtained from old sheets, bleached and redyed, canvases taken from antique mattresses, cottons and lacework, Sangallo laces, silks embroidered with early twentieth century passementerie. The creation of the items begins with the recovery of old materials, the redying of the fabrics, and then the assemblaged of items with stitching directly upon dressmaker’s dummies, and then finally the seamstresses put together the final creations, with certification labels to document the provenance of the clothing.
