Thompson

Jim. American entrepreneur. He vanished mysteriously during an expedition in Africa in 1970. In the middle of Bangkok his large store still stands, the product of the merger of little boutiques that he had created previously. He landed in Thailand during the Second World War, and never left. He loved Thai techniques in silk working, improved on them, and made artisanal processes industrializable, without distorting their tradition. He added soft cottons to the silk fabrics, in an extraordinary range of colors, alongside a prêt-à-porter line, household, pillows and other furnishing items.
