Karena (1963). German shoe designer, who studied in Germany and Italy. In 1988, she moved to Paris to attend the Chambre Syndicale de la Haute couture. While she was following the 3-year fashion design and pattern-making course, she worked for Sidonie Larizzie and Dior. She is passionate about shoes. In 1991, she was taken on by Stephan Kelian as a designer and designed collections for Maud Frizon, later also taking responsibility for the Esprit Europe line. She set up on her own in Summer 1996. Two years later, she diversified into men’s shoes and bags, and in 1998 opened her first boutique in Paris.
