Schiano

Marina. Model and jewelry designer born in Bacoli (Naples). Thin, very tall, with oriental features and an irrepressible Neapolitan vitality, she began by modeling for Livio De Simone in Naples. She moved to Milan and posed for photographer Giampaolo Barbieri. Next came New York, where, through the agent Eileen Ford, she worked extensively with Avedon and Hiro. She became an inseparable friend of Andy Warhol. In the 1970s, Saint Laurent asked her to manage his office in New York and be responsible for the company’s dealings in North America. After spending time as a designer for Calvin Klein and collaborating with the magazine Vanity Fair, she began designing jewelry.
