Willy Ronis (1910-2009)

Willy Ronis (1910-2009) was a French photographer. He learned in his father’s studio, devoting himself to landscape and reportage, an activity he resumed after the war, in 1945, working for Life, L’Illustration, Point de vue, Le Monde Illustré.

An attentive observer of his Paris, he produced an acute reportage on a popular arrondissement, which was published in 1954 as a volume with the title Bellevue-Ménilmontant. Since then he has published numerous books, solo and group exhibitions and won numerous awards. Considering himself an eclectic author, he has devoted himself to all kinds of photography, including fashion photography, working with Vogue France.
