Mary Ann Restivo (1940)
An American designer, she combined elegance with the practicality of the working woman.
She studied at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York. From 1962 to 1974, she put her name on a line of her own for the Genre label. After that, she founded a company of her own which, in 1988, was purchased by the Leslie Fay Corporation. In 1992, her label was discontinued. Since 1993 she has been freelancing as a consulting fashion designer.
