Preen

Preen is an english ready-to-wear label founded in 1996 by Justin Thornton (1969) and Thea Bregazzi (1968), who met aged 18 when they were fashion students. Thornton has a fashion degree from Winchester School of Art and has worked on Helen Storey’s collection of recycled clothes. Bregazzi graduated in fashion from the University of Lancashire and then became a stylist working for various magazines. They began by opening a boutique on the Portobello Road where they sold their slightly trashy, slightly Victoriana influenced collection which became an immediate hit. They were soon hailed by the press as pioneers of a post-punk, post-fashion style that heralded the London of the new millennium. They opened a shop in Japan, and their label is sold in the most important fashion emporiums throughout Europe, Asia, and America.
