Pomodoro

Arnaldo (1926). Italian sculptor. In 1951 he founded Studio 3P with his brother Giò and Giorgio Prefetti to produce jewelry and gold pieces. These unique pieces were displayed at the X Milan Triennale and also stole the limelight at the Venice Biennale in 1956. From the 1960s Pomodoro designed sculptural jewelry in the form of spheres, disks, and molten gold and silver surfaces made in Milan by Gem Montebello and photographed by Ugo Mulas. The artist created two extremely modern dresses for Bruna Bini’s collection in 1961. The first, called The Astronaut’s Secretary, was made of fabric combined with rubber tubes which form the skirt. The second was called Black Spring, and was an impressive richly embroidered skirt teamed with black gloves and a sky-blue top.
