Petit Patapon

French children’s fashion label. In 1985 Noelle Tutenuit, a young biologist and mother of 5 children, started channeling her creative energies into making simple knitted and fabric clothes for her children, using carefully chosen colors and materials to create a unique and original style. She was encouraged by friends and family to start producing on a larger scale, taking advantage of the support and know-how of her family’s textile business Distese S.A., which was run by her husband Franµois Gros. In this way the Petit Patapon project came into being in 1987, producing personalised clothes and accessories that take into account the individuality of every child. There are two collections a year, divided into four age groups: Petit Patapon newborn; Petit Patapon first steps (6 months — 4 years) with ranges that follow the latest trends; Petit Patapon Pixie et Cie, fine clothes for special occasions for children aged 4 to 14; and Petit Patapon P.K. Kids, trendy “rough and tumble” clothes for children aged 4 to 12. There are 70 flagship stores around the world, with ten own-brand stores in Italy.
