Pejoski

Marian. Designer. The Macedonian thirty-something designer moved to Great Britain in 1987. There she started designing her collection which she sold at the London boutique Kokon to Zai, along with other little-known but imaginative designers (Noki, Russell Sage, Emma Cook, Adam Entwisle). The shop gained cult status after a short time: in fact it was there that her clothes were discovered by Björk, the Icelandic singer famous for her eccentric outfits, for whom Pejoski designed the famous “Chinese lantern” dress which she wore to the Cannes 2000 premiére of Dancer in the Dark (which went on to win the Palme D’Or), and the swan-shaped dress that she wore to the Oscars. This launched Pejoski on the international scene: her trashy-chic comic strip creations — think Betty Boop and Daisy Mae — enjoy great success.
