Palatella

Saverio (1958). Italian designer. After dabbling in T-“shirts he designed for Gentryportofino, who from 1988 to 1992 produced his line, and he collaborated with several yarn manufacturers. This experience in knitwear and spinning enabled him to specialize in the fine knitwear sector. In 1993 his brand formed a productive alliance with the Gruppo Manifatture Associate. In 1998 Palatella chose to pursue research. In 2000 he temporarily suspended his collection in order to link his name with the Gentryportofino brand. In 2001 he returned to the market with his Saverio Palatella women’s collection. This is a ready-to-wear collection with some added couture pieces, which has attracted numerous artists including the American jazz musician Jimmi Scott, who has played at his shows, the Malian singer Rokia Traore, and the multiethnic group Ekova. The Saverio Palatella men’s collection debuted in Fall-Winter 2003-2004.
