Ohya

Ohya (1970). Japanese designer. She attendd the Bunka Fashion College until 1992 and in the same year she designed accessories for Issey Miyake. In 1996 she launched her own label called Ohya Design Zoo and took charge of Issey Miyake’s Haat range. In 2002 she showed her first couture collection in Paris, using nonconformist presentation methods rather than the usual runways. She has becomes successful thanks to her “bookwear” creations, i.e., folding garments that resemble books.
