Musso

Roberto (1960). Italian designer. Born in Vigevano, he started out in spring 1995 with a collection characterized by the influence of oriental culture and traditions. This has remained his signature look, but it is represented through simple, unadorned, linear clothing in muted colors. He is constantly on the look-out for new materials. Based in Milan, his creations have become known all over America, being sold at the New York department store Barney’s.
&Quad;2003, February. On the runways of Milano Moda Donna, Musso’s new collection was inspired by travel and distant, exotic countries: Clean lines and essential, tailored cuts; bright textiles borrowed from antique saris; bouclé weaves and tulle ribbons. Skirts in boiled wool inspired by origami, which, being cut on the bias, take on the appearance of handkerchiefs. Light, colorful knitwear, capes and cloaks, and skirts in drifting satins. Also from the Far East were the valuable antique edgings of Musso’s coats, which are available in limited editions.
