THE MUSEUM OF APPLIED ARTS, IN OSLO, HOSTS A FASHION COLLECTION OF LOCAL MANUFACTURING STARTED IN 1876

Museum of Applied Arts

The Museum of Applied Arts is located in Oslo, Norway. It houses a fashion collection started in 1876. Most of the clothes, dating from 1700 to today, are locally made except for a few examples of international brands. The collection of court dresses, from 1905 to the 90s, forms a further, important nucleus. The section of European and Asian folk dresses is smaller. All this is accompanied by a collection of sketches by Norwegian designers.
