Mozzillo

Angelo (1965). Italian designer and entrepreneur. Born in Caserta into a family of textile producers, he studied Fashion Design Management at the Domus Academy in Milan. In 1995 he founded his company in his hometown, where he produced and distributed women’s prêt-à-porter clothing. His products were produced by high-quality businesses and traditional workshops, and distributed through shops and department stores, such as Bergdorf Goodman in the USA, Walter Gross in Zurich, and Veneto in Cannes. In 1998 he opened a showroom in Milan in Via Montenapoleone. He also designs haute couture fashion which he shows in Rome.
&Quad;2003, January. For his début at AltaModaRoma, he presented a hybrid woman — half bird and half fish. Her clothing adorned with studs, she represented a living contrast between punk and hedonism.
&Quad;2003, July. Mozzillo presented his new collection entitled Tacchi metropolitani (Metropolitan heels) at Hadrian’s Temple. Against a minimal backdrop of a single tree with crystal branches, and a suspended sculpture, he showed 21 outfits inspired by 1970s punk. 32 workshops had worked to produce these 21 outfits, and the single haute couture pieces were produced in limited editions of between 1 and 15 items. With sales of around 5 million euros, and a distribution network of 120 sales points (12 of which are in Italy), Mozzillo is now aiming mostly for prêt-à-porter sales abroad, particularly in the USA and Japan.
