MOU, THE BRAND OF FUR BOOTS
Mou is a footwear brand founded by Shelley Tichborne. Her story began in 2002 in London’s eccentric Portobello Road. The intent of Tichborne, originally from New Zealand and then raised with a deep awareness of the importance of nature conservation, was to create an original and luxurious shoe, handcrafted from natural fibers of excellent quality. Ethics and eco-compatibility are the foundations of the brand’s philosophy, which aims at creating shoes that last over time.
The Mou Boots, born as a response to the hectic life of the metropolis, warm and comfortable, feature raised stitching made with natural wool crochet, which have now become the hallmark of the brand’s famous footwear. Mou is synonymous with comfort, obtained thanks to natural leathers and soles made of EVA (ethylene vinyl acetate) and rubber that give a unique feeling of “back to nature”.
The success of the London brand is based on originality, craftsmanship and eco-sustainability. But Mou does not only deal with boots. The brand also produces leather slippers and sandals for the summer. Despite this, Shelley Tichborne’s main vocation continues to be that of winter footwear.
