Rebecca (1956). American designer, born in New Jersey. Having graduated in New York from the Fashion Institute of Technology, she began her career as a designer with a sportswear collection launched at dedicated runway shows. In 1996 she launched her own first line of prêt-à-porter clothes and accessories, concentrating on simple sophisticated knitwear made from the highest quality materials.

Cashmere became the key element of her collections, created for every season, and in 36 shades. Since 1998 she has dedicated herself exclusively to her own range. She is one of the directors of the Council of Fashion Designers of America and a member of the Italian National Chamber of Fashion.

Rebecca Moses, A life of Style

Rebecca Moses canceled her Spring-Summer 2003 collection due to disagreement with Herno Marenzi. Differing opinions on how to conduct a growth strategy for the brand threatened to damage the image of the Rebecca Moses name, which at that point was looking for new partners. Rebecca Moses was appointed Creative Director at Pineider and redesigned the entire range of products.

The Tuscan company, which became part of the Hopa Group in 2000, has undertaken a big re-branding exercise, which began with the re-styling of the historic Florence store in Piazza Signoria. In addition to the visiting cards, writing paper and invitations traditionally produced by the business, now there are sophisticated objects from the designer’s collection. She has studied various ranges produced by the house, which was loved by Stendhal and Byron, and reinterpreted them with simplicity and elegance. The range now includes products for children and babies, for the home (tableware and linen, pieces of furniture, tartans, vases, perfumes and essences, candles, picture frames), and for travel (leatherwear, handbags, totes, weekend bags, and even bags for laptops and wicker baskets for picnics).
