Moreni
Popi (1947). Italian designer, trained in France. In her youth, after studying fashion and costume in Turin, she went to Paris and entered the design studio of Maïmé Arnodin. In 1967, at the age of just 17, she was taken on by Promostyle to oversee its womenswear. In 1973 she set up her own consultancy service for textile makers and the prêt-a-porter industry. Three years later she started her career as a designer with her own boutique at Les Halles. In 1979 she presented a complete collection which earned her a contract with the mail-order company 3 Suisses, designing clothes for men, women, and children. In 1988 her career flourished further when she was taken on by the mail-order giant, La Redoute.
&Quad;1997. Moreni won the Cosmetique News Prize for best perfume, her eponymous fragrance having been launched the previous year.
