Montagut is a brand named after the Village St Sauveur De Montagut, in which a company that produces silk thread was founded in 1880. This business went on from generation to generation until 1925 when it was turned into a clothing company. Through the study of fabrics, in 1962 the Fil Lumière was invented, an elastic, strong and luminous thread. The polo shirts and suits made with the Fil Lumière immediately became famous in France and all over the world.
Nicolas Gros and Marine Lozet-Gros, today’s leaders from the sixth generation have taken over the reins of this French family business for a few years. They were nourished by the family heritage, they breathed their touch of modernity and emotion to give life to the specialized knitwear company.
Today the company is experiencing a new turning point and it gave life to the Maison Montagut thanks to this new headquarters and the redevelopment of several stores. Maison Montagut is a concept that allows this brand to claim to be established in knitwear by expanding its offer to home furnishing products, travel accessories, gifts, always revolving around the knitwear know-how. The Pôles brand now offers women’s sweaters online, especially in wide widths, imbued with the spirit of freedom and femininity.
