Mohair

The hair of the Angora goat raised in Anatolia, South Africa, Texas, and Mexico. It is fine, soft, long and shiny, even after dyeing. Because the hair is quite thin, it can be spun at 36 microns. Kid mohair, from the baby goat, drops to 24-25 microns. It makes light clothing with good insulating properties. Its light weight means it is also used for summer garments.
