Carmen (1903-1986). Spanish tailor. she opened her own atelier in Barcelona in 1940, after moving from Balsaren, where she was born and her parents owned a textile factory. Her style was popular in the 1960s and 1970s for her unusual take on garments that originated mainly from England: the mini-skirt and the Barbarella fashion. In 1977, Carmen handed the business over to her daughter-in-law, Elisa Lacambra, by which point it had developed into a traditional Spanish tailoring brand.
