Milner

Deborah (1964). English designer. Born in Surrey, she opened her atelier in London after studying at the Central Saint Martin’s College of Art (1987) and the Royal College of Art (1990). She is loved by the English aristocracy, especially for her wedding dresses. In 1993, she took part in London Fashion Week for the first time. She designs clothing for the television and adverts. An expert in cutting, her style is based on the search for new silhouettes and materials. She created the clothing for the milliner Philip Treacy’s Fall-Winter 1997 runway show. In 1998-99, her clothing-sculptures in stainless steel featured in the exhibition Addressing the Century — 100 years of art and fashion at the Hayward Gallery in London. Her first prêt-à-porter collection debuted in 1999.
&Quad;2001, October. Deborah Milner’s innovative garments, produced in collaboration with the English Laser Centre, which promotes partnerships using laser technology in the textile field, were displayed at Grand Central Station in Manhattan.
