MIKIO SAKABE, JAPANESE BRAND

Mikio Sakabe is a Tokyo based homonymous Japanese fashion designer. He also founded a brand under his own name. His debut collection caused a sensation when he was still studying at the Royal Academy in Antwerp. Inspired by the daily Tokyo street life, his clothing lines always tend towards a perfect balance between creativity and wearability. His attention is present vivid colours and geometries.

In 2007, he presented his first collection in Paris.

During Tokyo Fashion Week 2024, Mikio Sakabe presented his Autumn 2024 collection, marking his official return to the event after a three-year hiatus. Models on the runway showed off shoes from his top footwear label, Grounds.
