Giuseppe Menta: sustainable designer ante-litteram.

Giuseppe Menta was born in 1937. He was a designer, student of color techniques, and creator of textiles. Menta was born in Cremona.

He loved fabrics and working in the design sector since he was young. In fact, since 1950 he began to work with prints. Since he did not know how to use them properly, he started to follow evening courses in design that have been very useful and formative for him. At this point, at the age of 30, Giuseppe Menta was taken on by the Italian brand Bordogna, as a textile designer and began to create exclusive designs for prêt-à-porter firms and haute couture tailors. After several years of cooperation, in 1974, Giuseppe Menta founded his own company. This latter, focused especially on research into textiles with the aim of producing environmentally friendly, naturally dyed fabrics. He launched the ecological brand Menta Veste Natura in 1992. After teaching at the Royal College of London and at the Ripamonti Institute in Como. Afterwards, Menta ran a laboratory of graphic design at the design faculty of the Polytechnic of Milan.
