Maxwell

Vera (1903). American tailor. She made her debut at the relatively late age of 44, having spent a long period in the ballet corps at the Metropolitan in New York and having learnt her trade by working with Adler & Adler, a prestigious American tailoring firm. She was known for her choice of textiles that were not normally used by ateliers and for having been a pioneer of suede skirts and jackets in the United States.
