Matsushima

Masakï (1963). Designer, born in Nagoya-shi (Japan), who later moved to Paris. In 1988 he presented his first collection for Tokyo Kumagai Accessoires and, in 1992, founded his own company. Two years later he produced his first line of women’s clothing. His garments are always immediately recognizable for their long, fitted silhouettes and the use of special materials.
&Quad;2000, February. The museum at Kent State University in Ohio celebrated Japan fashion with the large exhibition Japanese by Design, dedicated to the creations of Issey Miyake and Masaki Matsushima.
&Quad;2002, April. He was a member of the Jury for the tenth Brother Cup China, a competition organized by Brother Industries of Hong Kong, open to young fashion creators from 25 different countries.
