Masana

Josep (1894-1979). Catalan photographer. His specialties were portraits and publicity campaigns for the worlds of fashion and showbusiness. In 1920 he opened his first studio in Barcelona, and, in 1935, inspired by his experience of the historic avant-garde and cinematic expressionism in particular, he opened the Savoy Cinema. He used various recognizable motifs in his own work, such as photomontage and repeated images reminiscent of Futurism.
