Marina Salamon is an Italian entrepreneur

Marina Salamon graduated in History from the Ca ‘Foscari University of Venice and started working at a very young age as a shop assistant at Coin. Her peers made contemptuous comments not knowing that the girl needed to work to pay for her studies. But life had a great encounter in store for Marina, which significantly changed her destiny. She was very young when she met the entrepreneur Luciano Benetton. The two fell in love and their son Brando was born. However, their relationship was short.

Entrepreneurial Journey

In 1982, supported by Luciano, she founded Altana, a leading company in the production of kidswear. Altana took over the management of Moschino, Liu Jo, Jeckerson, and Moncler for many years. She produced and distributed the Moschino Baby Kid Teen collections under license (with a ten-year license agreement) and since 2017 she has been producing and distributing the Jeremy Scott Kids collection.

At 32 she took over Doxa, the market research and analysis agency founded by statistics professor Pierpaolo Luzzatto Fegiz (the agency was put up for sale when he died), and George Gallup, where her father worked as CEO. Meanwhile, in the late Nineties, she fell in love with Marco Benatti, and the couple had three children. Also, this relationship ended. After the breakup with Benatti, Salamon started a relationship with Paolo Gradnik, pharmacist and founder of Banco Farmaceutico.

Marina also controlled 100% of Alchimia, a holding company included in the Mediobanca report among the top 180 Italian financial companies. In turn, Alchimia controlled Doxa. In 2013 the company Loyalteam Srl was added, which works in the organization of Loyalty Programs in the context of large-scale retail trade, as well as Forest srl in 2014, producer and distributor of the clothing brands Save the Duck and Ganesh.

She founded the Web of Life trust: a non-profit that allocates part of the profits to charitable associations for educational, socio-health, and welfare projects. In her battle in favor of the weakest, she was also involved in Progetto Arca and the Francesca Rava Foundation. Marina was also an international adviser to the WWF, with responsibility for the management of assets, personnel, finance, and for the preparation of the budget.

Marina Salamon and politics

Close to the wing of Communion and Liberation, Salamon was not clear in her decision, placing herself between center-right and center-left several times. In 1994 she ran for the Democratic Alliance lists and in the same year, she joined the city council of Venice as a spokeswoman for mayor Cacciari.

In 2013 she published the book “Dai vita ai tuoi sogni” for Mondadori.
