Lubin

French brand of perfumes created by Pierre-Franµois Lubin in 1798. This was the year that the famous fragrance Eau de Lubin was created. After rapidly becoming supplier to the French, Russian and English courts, the maison’s founder was the first to try his fortune in the southern states of the USA. When he died in 1829, the brand was taken over by the Prot family until 1960, when it was bought by the German group Mühlens. In addition to the overwhelming success they received at the Exposition des Arts Décoratifs in 1925 in Paris, Lubin perfumes were also remembered for the originality and fantasy of their bottles. Among the most famous: Kismet, L’Océan Bleu, Lune de Miel, Ouvrez-moi (enclosed in a bag) and Fumée (a tromp-l’oeil depicting a cigarette box), Nuit de Longschamp, Gin Fizz, and L’Eau Neuve.
