Les Modes

French big format fashion monthly. From its foundation in 1901 by the Group Goupil-Cie to its closure in 1937, it was the forerunner of all the innovative content and presentation decisions taken by the fashion press. To start with, the glossy paper it used, the high-quality color photographs shot by famous professionals, the use of stars and jet-setters as models, detailed descriptions, name-dropping, and columns dedicated to news, medicine, art, and men’s fashion.
