Lellasport

A store in the heart of Milan and, later, a factory that made female sportswear. This brand has been worn by Milanese women for more than 30 years. It was established in the mid-1950s by Domenico Lella, a ski champion, with his wife Valeria Carema and sister Francesca (nicknamed Cicci), who made the decisions on style. These were Lellasport’s business steps: a first store in San Pietro all’Orto and a workshop in Corsico; then a factory that produced windcheaters, tailleurs, trousers and pullovers, men’s colored shirts, swimming costumes and horse-riding outfits. For many years the store also enjoyed the exclusiveness of Marinita’s skirts; produced in very limited runs, they were very sought after. Nowadays Lellasport no longer has a store or a factory: its garments are made by others, which it sells in Italy, Switzerland, Germany, the United States, and Japan.
