LAURA DAWSON IS A NEW YORK FASHION DESIGNER

Laura Dawson is a New York fashion designer, whose collections are inspired by Metropolitan looks full of glamour and with a purely international taste. For her creations, the designer only uses natural materials. Such as, from organic crops, with great attention to protecting the environment. Alongside, respecting the conditions in which the workers operate. All the pieces are compatible among each other and allow to create different looks. The volumes, the playful prints and the way in which the different materials such as velvet, leather and silk are treated and mixed are very interesting.

After a post-college trip to Europe, Laura Dawson arrived in New York City in 2002. Just in time to experience a harsh winter on the East Coast. She had come across a very interesting yarn shop during her stay in Amsterdam. Attempts with jumbo knitting needles and fat wool yarn resulted in a series of hats, an oversized version of the classic beanie whose sales were very conspicuous. Soon she made her first complete collection in 2003. A concert with three ASFOURs – or AsFour, as the group was then known – and a period at Donna Karan, and steps in the music industry came later (costumes for Scissor Sisters and Brazilian Girls; T-shirts for Moby).

Today Laura Dawson is a management consultant for brands including Louis Vuitton, Burberry and The Pink Room.
