La Donna

Italian magazine founded in 1905 in Turin and moved, fifteen years later, to Rome. In the capital it started to bring together the initiatives and interests of the emerging Italian bourgeoisie. It had articles about fashion services, specially about France, accompanied by the subjects that were about to become the staple of women’s magazines: beauty, interior décor, news and culture, with a particular focus on the female universe. A wider cultural perspective was also made possible by the constant use of big names in literature, criticism, and journalism. It ceased publication in 1968.
