Jasiak

Daniel (1965). French designer of Polish origins. He studied fine arts in Tourcoing and Decorative Arts in Paris. He carried out his apprenticeship at Lidewig Edelkoor. Later he worked as an independent consultant for six years. In 1992 he opened his first atelier. He is “lonesome”. He did not want alliances with the industry and created custom-made unique pieces for his clients who never knew what the final result would be. He says: “What I do is work, not fashion”. To allow himself the luxury of such small production in France, he has a connection with the Japanese ready-to-wear industry, but only and exclusively with that country. He is the only designer to accept the cut and sewing of the ‘flesh clothes’ of Jana Sterback, which stirred a scandal in London during a show of Winter 1997-98.
&Quad;Jasiak’s technique contemplated the assembly of the varied fabrics, from kimonos to dust rags, in a patchwork that he later cut and composed to create very light shirts. Wool sweaters and scarves are handmade manufactured by his mother Maria.
&Quad; In 2000 he was among the inventors of Egostyle, a triumph of custom-made clothing, which privileges the personalization of the look compared with ready-to-wear. The original production, a reaction against the uniformity of the industrial fashion, was put on sale in his Parisian boutique in Rue Cassette and in Brussels.
&Quad;2001, August. He created the clothes for the wedding of the former pop group Eurythmics, Dave Stewart with Anoushka Fisz.
