Giordani Aragno

Bonizza. Historian of costume and contemporary fashion. A curator and fashion consultant at the Museum Boncompagni Ludovisi, scientific director of the Micol Fontana foundation, and chief editor of Audrey magazine, Bonizza Giordani has also been a member of the National Commission for the Politics of Protection and Development of the Decorative Arts of Fashion and Costume. For the office of TV School Education, in 1982 she produced History of Fashion and in 1990, for RAI 1, The Great Exhibitions — Valentino –Thirty Years of Magic. For the Center of Studies and Communication Archive (CSAC) of the University of Parma she organized the donated archives of the Fontana sisters, Federico Schuberth, Irene Galitzine, Centinaro, Walter Albini, and the Farani tailor’s workshop. In addition, from 1982 up to today, she has conceived and organized exhibits and catalogues in Italy and abroad, including The Design of Italian High Fashion 1940-70 (Rome), Italian Fashion 1920-1980 (Tokyo, Osaka, and Kyoto), 40 Years of Italian Fashion 1940-1980 (New York), Fifty Years of Fashion (Rome, Castel Sant’Angelo), and Artejeans (Paris). In 2002, the exhibits included Sarli — Fifty Years of Italian Style — 1952-2002 (Naples, Castel dell’Ovo), The Worn Clothing. From Futurism to Abstractionism (Rome, Museo del Corso), and Women Between Thrills and Emotions (Rome, Auditorium and Museum Boncompagni Ludovisi). In 2002, Bonizza Giordani contributed High Fashion: When Did It All Start? to the International Conference on Italian Fashion: Identities, Transformation, Production that was held in New York.
