Giesswein

Austrian company for Tyrolese clothing and accessories, especially those made from boiled wool, for men, women, children, and teenagers. It was created in 1954 by Elisabeth and Walter Giesswein. It worked for a small, private clientele using rudimentary systems (a home washing machine) to felt the wool. Ten years were sufficient to turn it into a technologically advanced business for wool hanging. Some 70% of the turnover comes from abroad, through 86 stores in Italy, 87 in Spain, 88 in the U.S. and 93 in France.
