Gap-Groupe Avant Première

French monthly review published from 1969 to 1990. Its goal was to inform people in the industry about the textile market and changes in the demand for fashion. Every season it would ask a panel of journalists to select some thirty models out of 350 or 400 that had been pre-selected. Their ranking of the garments would set fashion trends and was documented not by photographers but by a group of artists and illustrators. The magazine generated a series of specialized reviews such as Les Collections, Gap Sport, Hyper Gap, Gap Italy, and Gap Japan. Only Gap Sport survives.
