Fair Isle

Sweater with multicolored geometric patterns made popular during the 1920s by the Prince of Wales, the future King Edward VIII, who later abdicated in order to marry Mrs. Simpson. He wore it when playing golf. It was named after a small island near the Shetlands and the Orkneys, north of Scotland between the North Sea and the Atlantic Ocean, that is especially renowned for its wool manufacturing. Besides the typical patterns, the sweater is characterized by a very wide crew-neck.
