Emilia Bellini
Historic griffe for underwear and linens. It was named after its founder. All through the 1970s, Emilia Bellini represented “the best” for underwear and linens that were “made in Florence.” In Summer 1952, she participated in the first presentation of Italian fashion at the Sala Bianca in Palazzo Pitti. In 1963, she was a recipient of the French “Bon GoÃt” gold cup. Palazzo Strozzi dedicated an exhibit to her in which it was possible to admire pieces of the most valuable manufacture, unique in their extraordinary workmanship. The 15th century Florentine palace where her creations, admired throughout the world, were produced also displayed masterpieces from the past of inestimable value. These included blankets in white lacework that it had taken more than a generation to complete as well as a small handkerchief that had required more than a year of work. She wrote an encyclopedia dedicated to color in which she listed all the shades and tones of every single hue. Her daughters Evelina and Clara were her helpers and continued her tradition.
