Eddie Bauer

American company making casual clothes and sportswear. It specializes in sales via direct mail catalogues and has sold on the internet since 1996. Established in Seattle in 1920, it has more than 500 shops in the U.S. and Canada, with 11 more in Japan, Germany, and England. Since 1983, it has worked on a line of automobile interiors with Ford. In 1991, it launched a line of home products, and in 1995 it added the new clothing griffe A/K/A, which combines the comfort of sportswear with a more classic and professional look suited to the office.
New lines are launched: first the Baby by Eddie Bauer line, then the Kid-sized line of sleepwear for children, and then the Kid-sized line of outerwear for children.
The Eddie Bauer model Ford automobile is taken out of production, after 16 years and 1 million cars sold.
An Eddie Bauer shop opens in Honolulu, Hawaii.
2001 is a year of international recognition; the Hispanic College Fund names Eddie Bauer “Company of the Year.”
A fifth agreement is signed between Eddie Bauer and the Lane Company, makers of the Lakeridge brand of products for the home.
