Lisa (1940). Italian fashion designer, born in Asmara, Eritrea, when the country was still part of the Italian lands across the Mediterranean Sea, of a very short-lived empire. She works in Milan and began her career in fashion in 1970. In 1986 she created and produced her own line of textile items for the home, such as bedcovers, curtains, tablecloths, and carpets. She also introduced a small clothing line characterized by color, lightness and a personal, modern vision that looked to the East, to India, China, and Japan. The fabrics are printed with stylized flower patterns, and have an ethnic touch, in satin, velvet, silk, and “poor materials” enriched with precious details.
