Ciambella

Franco Ciambella (1966) is an italian designer. After enrolling in the faculty of Ancient Letters, he graduated from the European Institute of Design and gained experience working in various fashion houses. In 1992, Ciambella opened a small atelier in Civitavecchia, where he designs and produces his Collections with artisanal techniques, researching new forms and testing new materials. A lover of high fashion and its traditions, he makes extensive use of the thin draping and the sumptuous, rigorous shapes of Balenciaga. He is inspired by the perfect line of Mila Schön in the 1960s and 1970s, and by the fluid and bare line of Giorgio Armani: everything filtered, modified, and transformed by his genius and sensitivity.

Ciambella’s first high fashion Collection

Ciambella presented his first high fashion Collection in July 1994, for Autumn-Winter 1994-1995. He had immediate success. As a matter of fact, his talent was confirmed in July 1995 when he was officially sponsored by the European Institute of Design at an event in the Sala dei Teleri of the Palazzo Ferraioli in Rome, on Piazza Colonna. He is always present at Fashion Week in Rome. His headquarters is in Civitavecchia, where he established the company Opera. In 2000 the designer was present for the first time at Spositalia, with his new bridal Collection.
