Chesterfield

Men’s overcoat that was in fashion during the 19^th century. It is named after Philip Stanhop, Duke of Chesterfield, who was the first to wear it in the early 1700s. It is straight, with a lapel neck in black velvet and a hidden row of buttons. The Chesterfield line was adopted for women’s clothing in the 1900s.
