Elisabetta (1941). Italian photographer. An actress, she began to be interested in photography while on the set of Fellini’s film 8 ø, and she then studied it on her own, with great sensitivity. She started her professional career as a photographer with portraits and worked with L’Espresso and Il Mondo. During the 1970s she moved to New York and worked for Condé Nast, in particular at Vogue, a collaboration which continued when she moved to Paris. She developed an intense relationship with exponents of conceptual art such as Pistoletto and Chia, and then definitively abandoned the world of fashion in favor of portraits. She published Uomini (1973), Faces and Faµades (1980), and Tempo di ritratti (1987), and had several personal exhibits.
