Bucol

Bucol was a french silk company. It was established in Lyon in 1920 by the entrepreneurial couple Bucher and Colcomber, after whom it was named. It exports some 75% of its turnover to Europe, Japan, and the U.S. It manufactures especially for high fashion and furniture. In 1988 it entered into a partnership with the Porcher Textile Group.
Bucol has an archive with 80,000 different styles accumulated during more than 80 years of activity. It has a staff of 64 employees, distributed between the plant at Bussières, in the Loire, which is specialized in colored yarns, and the administrative headquarters in Lyon, where the design department is also located.
