Blue of a Kind

Blue of a Kind, upcycling that becomes a business

Blue of a Kind, brand founded by Fabrizio Consoli. The focus of the project, whose name is a tribute to Miles Davis’ 1959 album Kind of Blue, is sustainability, and the goal is to give vintage jeans a second life. The garments are, in fact, made exclusively starting from existing clothing and stock fabrics, a revolution of the existing.

The research starts from vintage garments that, carefully selected, are first dismantled to be then reworked by expert hands in brand new and contemporary models. Unique and unrepeatable products, where small imperfections, given by the signs of time and use, become distinctive features to be preserved during the regeneration process. A single wash with 3 litres of water, in spite of the 150 usually used during the washing process. Garments ranging from 24 to 36, genderless and timeless, accompanied by an identity card that tells their story.

Industrial waste turns into new garments

The brand also offers a line of garments made with industrial waste. It’s called Leftover and is born from defective or advanced fabric, dyed with an innovative and super-sustainable process based on colouring with cotton powder, obtained by shredding old garments and production waste.
