Boetti

Lucia (1909-1985). Theatrical dressmaker. She arrived in Milan from Apulia (Corato di Bari) in 1918 with her entire family. Particularly intelligent and fanciful, self-taught, she started as an embroiderer. After several years in her dressmaker’s shop at via Unione 7, she began to specialize in theater costumes, which she created personally for Wanda Osiris and Elena Giusti. She worked for the vaudeville companies of Garinei & Giovannini, for the producer Remigio Paone, for the Legnanesi company, and for the casinos in Las Vegas and Beirut. She also collaborated with costume makers Giulio Coltellacci, Maurizio Monteverde and Corrado Colabucci.
