Bender

Lee (1939). London designer. He experienced the final days of swinging London and that explosion of young, revolutionary fashion. A graduate of Saint Martin’s School of Art and the London College of Fashion, she made her début with the boutique Bus Stop in Kensington Church Street. Her business partner is her husband Cecil. They sold clothes that were rather eccentric, almost extreme in their look, but affordable. The Bus Stop brand was successful in the U.S. also. By 1980 the adventure was over. Two years later, with a more subdued style, Lee Bender returned to the fashion stage with a new boutique in Knightsbridge carrying her name.
She signs an agreement as fashion consultant for some British and Asiatic firms. In particular, she looked after the penetration of eastern markets by western companies.
