Barrie

Scott Barrie (1946-1993) was an american designer. His very sexy and impudently provocative dresses brought him quick success. He belonged to a lively group of African-American designers who, at the end of the 1960s, established themselves on Seventh Avenue in New York. The most distinguishing feature of his work is a particularly sensual use of jersey, cut in unusual and fanciful ways. In 1983 in Milan he established Scott Barrie Italy in partnership with the Kinshido Company of Japan.
