Baracuta: English brand founded by John and Isaac Miller

baracuta

Baracuta is an English brand, founded in 1937 in Manchester by John and Isaac Miller, known for the Harrington jacket, also called G9 (G for Golf and 9 as the golf holes along the path). Initially it was created for players: the zipper and cape on the back, called umbrella back vent would protect them from the rain, as well as the elastic bands at the bottom of the sleeves, while the front pockets that could be closed with the button could hold two balls. It was worn by Elvis Presley, Steve McQueen, Eric Clapton, Ryan O’Neal and James Dean. In 1982 the female version came out. The brand was then purchased by WP Lavori in Corso in 2012 and relaunched at Pitti Uomo with an event celebrating its history. In 2015 the London store opened and in 2016 the Milan store opened.
